We know it goes against all the rules to share our recipes, but delicious whole foods shouldn’t be a secret. In fact, nothing could be easier. (Pears with Ginger? Let's see. That would be fresh organic pears pureed with a little fresh organic ginger, right?) We believe so strongly in the power of making simple, healthy food choices that we want to make it easy for you to "do it yourself"—if you have a little extra time on your hands.
Peas with Mint
"Give PEAS a chance!"
Ingredients:
- 10 oz organic peas (fresh or frozen)
- 3 fresh organic mint leaves
- 1 ½ tbsp water, plus water for steaming
Directions:
Bring about 1 inch of water to a boil over high heat in a medium saucepan. Put peas in a steamer basket and place over water. Cover pot and steam peas for 3 to 5 minutes until tender. Transfer peas to blender, add water and fresh mint, and puree until completely smooth. Cool and serve immediately or freeze in individual servings. (We find that freezing in 3.5 oz servings is convenient for the widest age range, but you should use whatever serving size works best for your child.)
